August 28th 2007 My husband’s project — building a shed door

The decision for building a shed door was my husband’s, but guess who the “assistant” was going to be?  Now, I am not completely incompetent in the area of home improvement, but when I saw my husband coming toward me with a stack of plans in his hand, I saw the writing on the wall. Now don’t get me wrong, my husband is pretty handy as well, but he tends to overdo things. Everything has to be done on a grand scale. I, on the other hand, like to have things done well, but I’m more of the “do it right, but do it simply” kind of person. To make a long story short, after numerous grumbles and several revisions, my husband had to admit that perhaps there was a simpler way to accomplish this task. We climbed into the truck and headed to the nearest home improvement center, picked out a nice “simple” shed and scheduled the installation for the following weekend!

August 20th 2007 Don’t Aggress Or Regress — Get GPS Instead

Frustrated because you always seem to get lost when you are traveling. I used to get lost. A lot. I fussed and fumed with my wife about it — or else I would just slink down in the driver’s seat, saying nothing. Not any more - since my wife bought me a GPS navigation device for our car about a month ago. Now, I’m not aggressing, or regressing — I’m GPS-ing instead!
